The Sarojin - Khao Lak April 30

30/04

Today was relaxation day. We returned the scooter
and had a feed in Khao Lak town. We returned to The Sarojin and went to the beach - another perfect clear and sunny day. The ocean water temp must have been up around 28-30 degrees, so nice and warm. I waded as deep as I could go without getting the plaster on my cast wet.

We walked about a k down the beach and found a resort that had been wiped out by the tsunami. Apparently 400 guest and staff perished as well as the owners, which is why it hadn't been rebuilt. The Sarojin was only 3 weeks from opening at the time it happened, and because the owners were Brittish they had given all of their staff Christmas off, which is why they didn't lose any people. Was a bit sad really.

After the beach we went to the pool and I sunbaked while Steve swam as he doesn't like the ocean. That night we had an early dinner at the resort. We had more lobster, huge prawns, mussels, squid and a bottle of champagne.
