Landed at Luton Airport. The UK Border Agency said my lost visa is still valid so I got in on it fine, even though I didn't have it. Paid nearly 13 pounds each to get a train ticket to our hostel. Checked into the Abercorn House Hostel in Hammersmith. It's a bit of a shit hole but it was ok priced and had availability for our whole 5 days meaning we didn't need to move rooms or hostels. Did a bit of grocery shopping - microwave dinners etc. The hostel has a kitchen but no pots, pans, crockery or anything. We've been using disposable cutlery and my swiss army knife to eat. I think people seem to live here, like it's more like a housing block. It's a bit sketchy as there seem to be lots of drug dealers and perverts (lots of guys watching porn on the communal computers) so we don't like not having lockers in the room.
Thursday July 30
We caught up with Jenni and Gabe (my little sisters school friends) for drinks and then dinner, and met Muz (I have no idea how to spell it :P) and Shannon, who both know Cate as well.
We met up with Gabe, Muz and Shannon in Brixton. Had a fairly bland pub meal before heading to the British Museum. We haven't been to any museums since we left so we figured we should go to one.
After the Museum we headed back to the hostel for a bit and got changed before heading back in to meet Jenni, Gabe, Muz and Shannon for drinks in North Clapham. We hit up a few pubs but didn't have a big night as the trains stop running around 12 here, even though they are very frequent until then and we had no idea how to get home on the bus.
